In parallel to her career as a performance artist where she holds a Masters of Music in Flute Performance Solo, Nadia Sparrow has over twelve years of teaching experience in music. She is experienced in teaching different styles of music on a few instruments including flute, band or wind ensemble, recorder, piano and music theory. Nadia is currently is one of the flute teachers on the faculty of the McGill Conservatory of Music and is also taking private students, offering both in-home and studio lessons. Nadia is experienced in giving clinics to public and private school band students and regularly gives classes and clinics at various schools in the Montreal region including, Lower Canada College, Trafalgar School for Girls and Evergreen Elementary School in St. Lazare.
For those taking or wishing for private music lessons, Nadia is very comfortable teaching all ages on flute including specializing with very small children as young as four years of age and students with special needs. She is happy to customize the lessons to what works for the student, as not everyone will learn the same way with the same speed. Nadia is flexible and attuned to what will suit every student’s need. She is in the process of completing a Bachelor of Education specializing in Music so that she might have the opportunity to teach full time in a formal school system.
